Evidence for a Polyalkyl Nature of son Humin

چکیده
Naturwissenschaften 78 (1991) © Springer-Verlag 1991 been considered as major precursors of humin [l 3]. The classical concepts of the nature of the humin have been questioned over the last few years. Recent studies using l3C NMR spectrometry point to the need of identifying the nature of paraffinic material in the fine soil fractions [4]. The origin of the polymethylene structures in soil humus remains particularly obscure since the lipids removed by solvent extraction always represent a minimal amount to the I3C NMR alkyl signals. The possibility of the accumulation in soils of highly aliphatic kerogen-like materials constitutes a suggestive hypothesis that would connect the early humification stages with the formation processes of fossil organic sediments of economic interest [5].

13C NMR analysis of biologically produced pyrene residues by Mycobacterium sp. KMS in the presence of humic acid.
Cultures of the pyrene degrading Mycobacterium sp. KMS were incubated with [4-13C]pyrene or [4,5,9,10-14C]pyrene with and without a soil humic acid standard to characterize the chemical nature of the produced residues and evaluate the potential for bonding reactions with humic acid. Cultures were subjected to a "humic acid/ humin" separation at acidic pH, a duplicate separation followed by solv...
متن کاملSorption of organic compounds to humin from soils irrigated with reclaimed wastewater
Article history: Received 17 October 2007 Received in revised form 11 February 2008 Accepted 26 February 2008 Available online 14 April 2008 Humin is an important fraction of soil organic matter that is known to tightly bind many organic compounds. The objective of this study was to evaluate the role of humin as a natural sorbent in soils irrigated with freshwater and treated wastewater. To mee...
متن کاملRetention of cobalt on a humin derived from brown coal.
In this work, the retention of cobalt on a humin (HU) derived from a brown coal is studied. Through a systematic and coordinated investigation of the behavior of the metal ions in solution (speciation diagrams as a function of pH) and their adsorption and precipitation processes with reactive functional groups of the solid (sorption isotherms), the interactions of different Co(II) species with ...
متن کاملUnraveling the structural components of soil humin by use of solution-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
Humin is the most recalcitrant and least understood fraction of soil organic matter. By definition, humin is that fraction not extracted by traditional aqueous alkaline soil extractants. Here we show that > or = 70% of the traditional humin fraction is solubilized when 0.1 M NaOH + 6 M urea and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) + 6% H2SO4 are used in series after conventional extraction. Multidimension...
متن کاملMain Types of Organic Matter in Geosphere
The most important types of organic matter in geosphere have already been mentioned. These are the fulvic and humic acids, humin, kerogen (in coal, oil shales, source rocks or scattered in the sediments), bitumen, oil, gas and graphite. All these forms are genetically related and are part of the carbon cycle in nature, or carbon cycle in the geosphere (larger circle in Fig. 1.4). Central place ...
